I would act as a player/coach responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing our digital marketing initiatives across multiple platforms and channels targeting B2B prospects and customers. I am qualified for this position with US Foods because of my extensive experience running digital marketing campaigns for my landscaping company over the last 4 to 5 years along with running digital marketing campaigns for clients over the last couple of years.

- The cost of living in Asheville is very reasonable, just 7% higher than Indianapolis. (Average income is also 7% higher)
- North Carolina is known for their BBQ, which is one of my favorite foods
- UNC & Duke are both located in-state and often produce high caliber basketball teams
- North Carolina’s economy is booming, meaning there are lots of opportunities for jobs and starting new businesses.

2024
Graduate College, start building my marketing company full-time, and buy a fixer upper house. I’ll also be doing quite a bit of traveling and camping as well. (Estimated Income - $75k)
2025
Get engaged, start taking pilot lessons, & buy another fixer upper house to move into while renting out the first house.
2026
By this point, my marketing company will have grown significantly through building industry relationships and creating content. Once again, buy another fixer upper house while renting out the second one. (Estimated Income - $200k)
2027
I’ll get married and start looking into property to build a forever home while also buying my first small single engine airplane. Meanwhile, we’ll probably get one more fixer upper house to eventually rent out, but live there until we can find our dream property.
2028
I’ll realize that my dream property for a forever home is still out of my budget for now, but I’ll buy some undeveloped land in southern Indiana to build a cabin on and hunt.
2029
I’ll have my first child and start focusing on getting myself out of the day to day operations of my marketing company so I can be present with my child and future children and not be consumed by my work. (Estimated Income - $500k)

I’ll start raising my first child while planning for more, I’ll also start looking into buying a struggling landscaping company that the owner is looking to retire and help turn the company around with proper marketing and operating systems.

I’ll have my second child and finally be able to afford and buy my dream property and while starting to build my dream house.

We’ll move into our new house with our children and I’ll start looking for larger real estate investments and other opportunities to buy landscaping/home service businesses.

My prior investments and business dealings will be performing really well, so I’ll start looking for a vacation home or two. (Estimated Income -

By this point I won’t be concerned about money and I’ll spend my time entirely how I’d like, whether that’s traveling or spending time with family, but knowing me and my love for the game of business, I’ll still be relatively hands-on in my business ventures. (Estimated Income - $10 Million)

My kids will be homeschooled so that we can spend our quality time together, have control over their quality of education, and still be able to travel freely.

My logo represents a crown with five points. The crown is a king’s crown because my first name, Ryan, comes from the Gaelic words righ and an, which together mean "little king.” Additionally, each of the points represents my 5 core values. From left to right, they are:

Lastly, the color of the crown is Gold. I chose gold because it represents success, achievement, and triumph. It is inherently optimistic, uplifting, and enlightening, while inspiring us and giving us the confidence to reach our potential.
Personality Assesment - INFP
Driver Overview
Looking back at my results as a first year student, they are identical to my results from the Keirsey Temperament Scale as a senior. Both times I took the assessment I came back as an INFP. This result fits my personality very well, so it makes sense that I got the same results both times. Every sentence underneath the Idealizer section describes me to a T. I am someone who gets excited about many things and has many passions, but from the outside looking in, not many people realize this because of my introverted personality.
On top of that, I also care deeply about learning & coming up with new ideas while also taking on many independent projects of my own, sometimes more than I can handle. I like being social and spending time with friends and family, but I am often too absorbed in one of my own projects to have any desire to go out and interact with others. Lastly, I don’t have much concern with my physical possessions, can be adaptable, and greatly dislike detail, which all fit directly into the INFP classification. Since my first year here at Butler, I’ve definitely grown as an individual and learned a lot along the way, but at the core still have a pretty similar personality today.

My current career trajectory isn’t just one of these, but a combination of all five. When you start your own business you often have to wear multiple hats at a time. These five career paths are directly associated with 5 different hats that I currently have to wear inside of my business. I’m the type of person who often takes on multiple independent projects, so getting the opportunity to not only fill multiple roles within my company, but do so in a manner that fits my personality type is reassuring that I’m heading down the right path.

From a young age I’ve been a rather high achiever and always pushed myself to be the best I can be. When looking back at my life up to this point, I realize how blessed I have been to learn the lesson of hard work and be able to commit myself to an end goal. Not everybody is able to find the drive to chase their dreams, and not everyone who does chase their dreams has success. I believe that part of my purpose is to use my skills and abilities to help people who may not seem like the stereotypical person to start and grow a successful business understand the ins and outs of doing so.
I want to help clueless 17 year old kids like me when I was starting my business. The challenge is finding a way for me to help as many people as possible while still running a highly profitable business serving people who don’t have much to invest. On top of helping young entrepreneurs who may be a few steps behind me in the process, as I grow in business and in wealth, I believe that it is my purpose to give back to those in need. I was raised into a loving family who cared for me and gave me opportunities, but I realize that isn’t the case for everyone. Some people just need a person that believes in them and gives them the necessary resources to level the playing field. Whether it be building houses for people in need like habitat for humanity, helping families put food on the table by working with food banks, or simply creating a scholarship fund in my community, I strongly believe that part of my purpose is to give back to the community.
I often cycle through many different ones in different stages of my life, but the one passion that has stuck with me from a young age is auto racing. I started racing quarter midgets at the age of 8 and have been racing in one form or another ever since. It’s something that allows me to get a rush of adrenaline while also getting to express my competitive nature. Being a professional race car driver has been a dream of mine ever since I started racing and I have seen people that I used to race and hang out with at the race track make that dream a reality.
Another passion of mine that has come about more recently within the last 7 to 8 years is my passion for the outdoors. I absolutely love spending time outside whether I’m hiking through the woods or simply sitting on the back deck reading a book. This led me to starting my lawn care & landscaping business as a way to make money while getting to spend time outdoors and work with my hands. Through running my business, I became very passionate about the lawn care and landscaping industry as a whole. I still have a lot to learn about the different types of plants, but it's a lifelong process that I'm excited to embark on while learning more and more about the landscaping industry.
Between my two passions of racing and landscaping, one pretty clearly offers a more stable and predictable career path. Even though I have a long lasting passion for racing, one thing that I’ve learned is that part of the reason I enjoy it is simply because of the thrill and the competition. Once you start putting your paycheck on the line based on your performance, it starts to steer me away. Through this realization, I’ve come to the conclusion that the ideal position for me is to build a company helping young entrepreneurs in the lawn care and landscaping industry and use a portion of the excess funds to start a race team. This allows me to get the best of both worlds while still being realistic.
When working with landscaping companies on their marketing, I get to hear their success stories first hand and get a rush out of being able to create something out of nothing. Everything in marketing starts as an idea. Running my marketing company allows me to create and implement a strategy from scratch and see how it directly impacts people’s lives. That in itself is such a rewarding process that I hope to continue to be able to experience.
Since racing is an expensive sport, as I grow my marketing company bigger and bigger, I’ll be able to use disposable income to build out my own racing team, most likely starting small in sprint cars or midgets with the possibility of leveling up into higher level oval or road course racing leagues.
Something that these two passions have in common is their seasonality as well. Both landscaping and racing happen in the summertime, meaning that I have the fall time to recoup and recover while also having more free time to give back to my local community.
